Appsolute Oy

Apps that make a physical fact legible.

Appsolute is an independent app studio in Helsinki. We build and run our own products, each one taking something you cannot see and putting it where you can act on it.

One weighs everything in your backpack. One watches the angle of your laptop lid. One puts your lights on a floor plan of your home.

Three apps, shipped

Hikt

A gear library and packing list app for hikers who want to know what their pack weighs before they carry it.

Your gear lives in one place and gets reused across trips. Hikt adds up base weight and cost as you pack, works offline on the trail, and imports an existing list from LighterPack, PackLight, a spreadsheet or a CSV in about a minute.

ScreenFold

A Mac utility that turns folding your screen down into a real gesture.

Tilt the lid past a threshold and audio mutes, media stops and the screen goes dark, instantly. Tilt it back and everything returns. Someone walked in, someone is talking to you, the screen is just noise on a call: one movement you already make, now with an effect. Pay what you want, no subscription and no account.

LightLayout

A floor-plan controller for Philips Hue, where every lamp sits in the spot it really occupies.

Instead of decoding a list of light names, you look at a plan of your own home and see which room was left on. Tap the room you are standing in and it responds. A guided editor builds the plan room by room, and one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Mac.

How the studio works

Every Appsolute app starts from a problem we have ourselves, which is a slow way to pick products and a reliable way to know when one is finished. We would rather ship a narrow app that does its one job completely than a broad one that does several jobs badly.

The same people design, build and answer support mail, so the interface and the code move together. Nothing on this site is tracked, and the apps collect only what they need to work.

The apps are built on React Native and Expo where they need to run everywhere, and in Swift where they need to sit close to the hardware. Two of the three are available on more than one platform from a single codebase.
